Study Terms and Conditions

HTL International School of Hospitality, Tourism & Languages is a private educational institution owned by HTL School In Spain Group.
It is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes as an examination center for SIELE official exams.

The education activity license is issued by the city hall of Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid.

HTL International School guarantees that all descriptions of programs and complementary services published on www.htlinternationalschool.com are accurate.

HTL International School has three academic centers in Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid, accredited by Instituto Cervantes as exam centers and by the corresponding city halls.

Students should be aware that they may appear in HTL’s promotional materials and photos published on social networks.

Any complaints need to be given in writing and within the first 24 hours of starting any of our programs. Otherwise, students will lose the right to any compensation or change.

HTL will accept any suggestion or request, for information purposes, to improve our services.

Tuition Fees and Additional Services

The enrolment fees, tuition fees and the cost of the additional services are listed on the Admissions page and are valid for the entire calendar year.

Study Contract Duration

The study contract starting date is the one stated on the receipt of the acceptance certificate.
The final date is the one stated on the admission certificate sent by the school to the student.

Application Procedure

The application for the program must be completed through an online form located on the program webpage or at the school.
You are required to submit academic/professional documents necessary to evaluate your profile.

  • Applications are open all year round.
  • The ordinary deadline is 30 calendar days before the first class date of the chosen intake.
  • It takes a maximum of 30 calendar days to review your admission application.

If accepted, the school will send you:

  • The official acceptance letter
  • The invoice (via email)

If the applicant’s profile does not meet the minimum requirements, HTL International School will notify you via email that the application was rejected.

If there are no available spots in the selected course intake, the school will offer you a place in the nearest upcoming intake.

The payment deadline is 30 calendar days prior to the program start date.

Once the payment is received, the school will issue the final admission certificate.

Payment Options

Payments can be made via:

  • Bank transfer to our school account (bank charges must be assumed by the student).
  • Credit card, either online or directly at the school offices.

The installment payment option is offered to all international students.

The final admission certificate is issued once the total amount of the course and enrolment fees have been paid.

Enrolment Cancellation and Refund

If you want to cancel your enrolment prior to the program starting date, please fill in Annex 1 and send it to: htl@htlinternationalschool.com.

  1. Within 14 calendar days after the payment is received:
    • Refund of 100% of the total study fees minus enrolment fee.
  2. After 14 calendar days or once the program has started:
    • No refund will be given.
  3. The amount paid can be used as credit for one year (on-campus or online), starting from the original intake date.
  4. No refunds for express post fee, accommodation confirmation service or medical insurance.
  5. Visa students requesting a refund must return the original admission documents within 14 days of the admission letter being issued.
  6. Refund applies only to the first intake enrolled.
  7. Refunds will be processed within 14 days by bank transfer (student pays the bank fees).
  8. If a visa was issued and you cancel, you must provide proof of visa cancellation from the Spanish consulate.

Diplomas and Certificates

To obtain your diploma, you must:

  • Pass the final exam and/or projects.
  • Have at least 75% attendance.

If you do not meet these requirements, you will receive a transcript of studies instead.

  • Electronic version of diploma → included after course completion.
  • Printed copy → paid service.

Note: SIELE exam fees and Apostille stamp fees are not included.

Holidays

Classes missed due to national or local holidays will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Program Start

  • Programs have fixed starting dates.
  • You must take a language level test before classes start.

Timetable Changes

  • Timetable changes are allowed only if another timetable option exists and has availability.
  • If no alternative timetable is available, no refund or postponement will be provided.
  • HTL reserves the right to reduce class hours if the group has fewer than 5 students.

Attendance

  • Attendance is tracked daily.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required to take final exams and receive a diploma.
  • If you miss 3 consecutive weeks, your level will be reviewed and may be changed.

Internship Placement

  • Internships usually start after the theoretical part of the program, but simultaneous internships are allowed.
  • Students may find their own internships, and HTL will sign the necessary agreements.
  • At the end of the internship, the company must provide a final certificate.

Study Modalities

HTL offers two modalities:

  1. On Campus – face-to-face or virtual classroom with a fixed schedule.
  2. Online – 24/7 access to the online study platform.

International Students

  • EU citizens: do not need a visa but must apply for a NIE number before arrival.
  • Non-EU citizens: must obtain visa information from their nearest Spanish consulate.

HTL will issue original documents once payment is made, including:

  • Admission certificate
  • Study plan
  • School license
  • Accommodation confirmation (if applicable)
  • Medical insurance confirmation (if applicable)

Medical Insurance

HTL offers comprehensive medical insurance with no co-payments, covering:

  • Primary care
  • Specialists
  • Emergency 24h care
  • Diagnostic tests and treatments
  • Hospitalization and surgery

Accommodation Service

  • School residence spots are limited and given on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If unavailable, HTL will guide students to book through partner student housing agencies.

Agreement

By signing the online application form or paying the program fees, the student accepts all terms and conditions.

Data Protection Policy

HTL complies with EU Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Your Rights

Students have the right to:

  • Access, rectify or delete personal data.
  • Limit or oppose data processing.
  • Request portability of data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
